Deruta turns into an open-air gallery: six ceramic art exhibitions

Deruta presents a city-wide exhibition route dedicated to ceramics: six themed shows set in different venues that highlight tradition, international exchanges and educational and solidarity initiatives.

Period: from April 16 to April 26

Main venues: Regional Museum of Ceramics, "Magnini" Art High School, Antica Fornace Grazia and Piazza dei Consoli.

• Thursday, April 16 – 12:30 inauguration at the Regional Museum of Ceramics: a display of about twenty works from the cities of the European Ceramics Route, presented during the association’s general assembly.
• Thursday, April 16 – 18:30 ribbon-cutting for the exhibition "Francesco: the imprint of ceramics", featuring roughly fifty pieces from historic ceramic towns affiliated with AICC, honoring the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi.
• Saturday, April 18 – opening of two further exhibitions: student works from the "Magnini" Art High School and "La strada bianca, ceramics from Dehua to Gubbio" at Antica Fornace Grazia, showcasing Chinese ceramic art alongside local craftsmen from Gubbio.
• Saturday, April 25 – 16:00 in Piazza dei Consoli: "Art that heals", an exhibition derived from the ceramic workshops at the Daniele Chianelli Residence, focused on therapeutic and social outcomes.
• Sunday, April 26 – 10:00 in Piazza dei Consoli: exhibition of ceramic works made by guests of the Centro Speranza in Fratta Todina.

The program connects artisans, schools, associations and European partners, reinforcing Deruta’s role as a reference point for artistic ceramics. The schedule blends exhibitions, education and social commitment, offering visitors a varied journey between tradition and international dialogue.
