SommersiVo: Dardust's sound installation at Padiglione Venezia

SommersiVo is the sound project through which Dardust interprets Venice at the 61st International Art Exhibition. The work combines music, technology and public participation to present the city as a two-level landscape—surface and submerged.

The original composition, recorded by the artist, is realized through the mechanics of a piano that activates autonomously every 55 minutes: the sequence regenerates over time, producing what the authors describe as an emotional reverberation. The installation builds a subaquatic atmosphere in which the instrument seems to continue sounding beneath the surface.

An interactive element allows visitors to leave a thought that is processed by an artificial intelligence system and translated into sound. Each contribution triggers micro-musical themes created by Dardust, so the sonic experience evolves with every visit and turns individual memory into a collective, ongoing performance.

  • Scenography: Paolo Fantin.
  • Technical support: H-Farm and Cisco.
  • Piano activation: every 55 minutes.
  • Interaction: visitors' thoughts converted into sound via AI.

Why visit "SommersiVo"

This immersive installation offers a sonic interpretation of the city and is recommended for audiences interested in contemporary art that merges musical research, technology and participatory practices. The work prompts visitors to perceive Venice not only visually but as a sounding organism where memory is layered and transformed.

  • Venue: Padiglione Venezia, Biennale Arte 2026 (Castello, Venice).
  • Exhibition period: May 9 – November 22, 2026.
  • Opening: presented in early May; the composition is also available on digital platforms.

Practical tip: check the official exhibition website for opening times and access rules before your visit. The installation suits visitors who appreciate sensory experiences and the intersection of visual art and sound design.
