Chiesa dell’Assunta (Recanati) nominated to FAI’s “Places of the Heart” 2026

The Chiesa dell’Assunta in Recanati has been nominated for the national survey “Places of the Heart,” promoted by FAI in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo. Now in its 13th edition, the initiative encourages citizens to protect and promote cultural and landscape heritage.

Over the years the campaign has generated attention, funding opportunities and restoration projects. For 2026 a total of €600,000 is available, with prizes for the top three places (€70,000, €60,000 and €50,000) and a later call for project proposals that will award up to €50,000 per project to sites that reach a minimum of 3,000 votes.

The Chiesa dell’Assunta is currently closed due to damage from the 2016 earthquakes. It remains an important cultural and spiritual landmark for Recanati: community support can increase its chances of obtaining resources for reopening and conservation.
