From the Resistance to the Constitution: exhibition in Portacomaro

The Casa dell'Artista in Portacomaro presents an educational exhibition that retraces the founding moments of the Italian Republic. The show will be inaugurated on Sunday, April 12 at 17:00 and will remain open until May 3.

Produced in collaboration with regional cultural associations, the exhibition combines historical documentation with contemporary exhibition design to engage both general visitors and school groups.

  • Content: 23 explanatory panels that outline the development of the Constitutional Charter and the core principles born from the Liberation struggle.
  • Themes: the bond between the Resistance and the Constituent Assembly; constitutional structure; the figures behind the Constitution. A dedicated section examines the achievement of universal suffrage and the significance of women's first vote.
  • Curators and design: critical texts and graphic design created by a team of historians and cultural communication professionals.
  • Additional display: the exhibition also includes the solo show "Yemaia delle vigne" by painter Maria Giulia Alemanno, extended for the event.
  • Education and engagement: a dedicated catalogue, interactive Kahoot quizzes and the option to tailor the exhibition with local focus materials on request.

The project originated in 2016 as a travelling exhibition and has toured several Italian regions. Its aim is to preserve historical memory and to clarify the origins and value of constitutional rights through clear visuals and documentary evidence.

Practical information: open to the public from April 12 to May 3. For guided tours and educational activities by appointment, contact the local organizers.
