From Cross to Light: Stefania Bruno’s Sand Art in Blufi

“From Cross to Light” is a live Sand Art performance by Sicilian artist Stefania Bruno, one of Italy's prominent practitioners of this visual form. Using a lightboard and live sand manipulation, the show composes images that are projected in real time, narrating a symbolic journey from the Passion to the Resurrection.

The performance builds scenes grain by grain on a luminous surface while a narrator and a curated soundtrack guide the audience through emotional moments. In about 45 minutes the work traces key stages—the final hours, the crucifixion, the silence of Holy Saturday and the emergence of light—offering an immediate and evocative artistic experience.

Why attend

Sand Art’s power lies in its transience: images appear and dissolve within moments, but leave a lasting impression. The event blends contemporary art and spirituality, making it accessible to diverse audiences without requiring prior knowledge.
