An event organized by Associazione Civita together with the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria explored how cultural assets, technology and enterprises can work together to foster regional growth. The discussion highlighted the need for strategic vision, practical tools and shared responsibility to turn local potential into sustainable development.
The meeting brought together institutional leaders, museum directors, academics and business representatives, reflecting the multidisciplinary approach required to intervene effectively on the territory. Contributions focused on policy, museum management and higher education perspectives.
Speakers drew attention to national funds available for digitalisation and culture: mission 1 of the national recovery plan includes significant resources for regional projects tied to "Digitalisation, innovation, competitiveness, culture and tourism." A portion of these funds is intended to support cultural initiatives capable of delivering economic and social impact locally.
The discussion reaffirmed that turning heritage into a development driver requires coordinated, long-term work. For museums in Calabria, engaging with public and private partners and adopting digital strategies are key levers to increase attractiveness, jobs and territorial sustainability.
