On April 17, the auditorium of the Pertini-Santoni school in Crotone will host the conference titled "Crotone, a Sea of History", promoted by the Mare Pulito "Bruno Giordano" Association and curated by Dr. Erica Borzillo.
The initiative brings together experts, scholars, institutional representatives, law enforcement and sector professionals to address contemporary archaeology challenges and the role of Calabrian sites as drivers for cultural and sustainable local development.
The programme includes specialist presentations, plenary and thematic sessions, and discussions on management models, conservation practices, heritage promotion and opportunities in sustainable archaeological tourism. Case studies from Italy, Europe and the Mediterranean will be presented, with particular focus on links between Magna Graecia's maritime heritage and Calabria's Blue Economy.
The event also aims to foster dialogue among institutions, professionals and young researchers by sharing projects, research and good practices for the safeguarding and promotion of regional archaeological assets.
