Corciano for the Castles Days 2026

When: 16 and 17 May 2026. A weekend dedicated to exploring the hilltop village near Perugia, focused on defensive architecture and local artistic heritage.

Main programme (16 May)

• 10:00 – Institutional greetings in the Sala del Vecchio Mulino, inside the medieval walls.
• 10:30 – Conference "Corciano. A fortified village of art and height", coordinated by Mario Squadroni (University of Perugia) with contributions from Giovanni Riganelli, Paolo Belardi, Federico Munzi and Luciano Taborchi.
• 13:00 – Lunch at the restaurant "Il Convento".
• 15:30 – Guided tour by reservation of the Castello della Pieve del Vescovo, led by Arianna Berioli (Art History lecturer) with two students assisting.

• Porta di Santa Maria – entrance to the historic core and starting point for the walking route among stone alleys.
• Palazzo della Corgna – a 16th-century residence with links to Galeazzo Alessi's designs.
