From 10 to 18 April 2026, the Mondadori Bookstore in Messina will exhibit the travel notebooks of Concetta De Pasquale, an artist recognized for works created aboard sailing vessels. The opening will take place on Friday, 10 April at 5:30 PM, with a conversation featuring Prof. Daniele Macris.
The exhibition gathers sketchbooks produced during voyages that ranged from Sicilian shores to the Ionian and Aegean seas, the Aeolian Islands and Ustica. Works combine quick marks, written reflections and watercolor impressions to convey the sensory and emotional experience of life at sea: wind, light, landfalls and memories.
Born in Salò and trained in humanities and fine arts, Concetta De Pasquale is known as a "shipboard painter" for her practice that treats travel as an experimental and creative laboratory. Her career includes national and international exhibitions, site-specific installations and multidisciplinary cultural projects.
Practical information: check with the Mondadori Bookstore in Messina for opening hours and any updates. The exhibition is suited to visitors interested in intimate, narrative approaches to travel and maritime themes.
