With You, With All: Italy Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Biennale

Dates: from 9 May to 22 November 2026

Artist Chiara Camoni, with curator Cecilia Canziani, reimagines the Italy Pavilion at the Tese delle Vergini in the Arsenale as a transformative landscape. The immersive installation combines sculpture, natural elements, reclaimed materials and collective practices to encourage reflection on our relationship with living matter.

Highlights

  • A forest of figures: more than twenty terracotta statues, slightly larger than life, made with traditional techniques and embellished with plants, shells, stones and studio-found objects.
  • A building in progress: the second hall presents a provisional architecture assembled from natural materials, industrial leftovers and reused plastics that form floors, walls, seats and gardens.
  • Central square and living garden: rest areas that relate the temporalities of sculpture, human life and natural cycles.

Program and research

The exhibition includes the Dialogues section, curated by Fiammetta Griccioli and Lucia Aspesi, which frames Camoni’s practice alongside historical and contemporary works and documents — from an Etruscan amphora to archive materials and works by artists such as Fausto Melotti and Marisa Merz. Two site-specific commissions enliven the show: Annamaria Ajmone’s performative Fossil Songs and Alice Rohrwacher’s What Remains, which weaves cinematic imagery with sculptural faces.

Accessibility and public programme

  • The public programme, curated by Lungomare, presents performances, listening sessions and co-creation activities that foster direct engagement with the works.
  • Accessibility measures include a partnership with Fondazione Amplifon’s Ciao! project, enabling around 30,000 elderly residents in care homes across seven countries to visit remotely and take part in activities.
