Ciak! Cuba is hosted at the Museo Nazionale Collezione Salce in Treviso and showcases the art of Cuban film posters. The exhibition highlights how the cartel de cine became a key form of artistic expression and cultural identity, featuring screen-printed works by both self-taught and professional designers such as Eduardo Muñoz Bachs and René Azcuy.
Since the establishment of the ICAIC (Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos) in 1959, cinema has played a central role in shaping Cuba's cultural identity. Posters were conceived not merely as advertising but as independent works that interpreted films and their social context. This graphic heritage has gained international recognition.
The exhibition project includes screenings and talks. Selected film showings and guest appearances by directors and authors provide further context to the displayed works. For the full schedule of collaterals, check the museum's official announcements.
The exhibition is presented across two venues: Santa Margherita (showcasing the major poster masters) and San Gaetano (featuring the Italy–Cuba comparisons and contemporary contributions). For opening hours, ticketing and guided tours, please consult the museum's official channels.
