This morning the Municipality of Chieti formally handed over the premises selected for the 'Millennia at Colle Gallo' Documentation Centre to the Superintendency for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape. The space, owned by the municipality, is located in the basement level of the Town Hall in Piazza San Giustino (entrance from Via Chiarini), locally known as the "Ex Grottino".
Following restoration works promoted by the Municipality and supported in part by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the project now moves into the installation phase. The initiative aims to tell the city's millennia-spanning history—from Italic phases to the modern era—using innovative and engaging exhibition solutions.
Local officials highlighted the cooperation between the Municipality and the Superintendency as central to the project, which is expected to complement Chieti's cultural system alongside recent interventions in Piazza San Giustino and other historic sites. In the coming months, installation works and the development of multimedia content for public use will continue.
