From 29 April to 20 September 2026, the Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea presents Cecilia Vicuña's first solo show in Italy. Titled El glaciar ido (The vanished glacier), the exhibition centers on a monumental horizontal quipu, a suspended installation made of raw white wool that spans the museum's Manica Lunga.
The work engages with Andean history and spirituality, ritual practices and current environmental emergencies, foregrounding collective memory and ecological fragility. The project was developed through participatory processes: communities and local groups contributed plant materials and woven works gathered via an open call.
Tickets and opening times: check the museum's official website for current information on prices, hours and related events.
The exhibition is an invitation to engage with collective care practices and non-Western knowledge systems, reflecting on the disappearance of natural cycles and on alternative ways to preserve memory.
