Photo exhibition: "If one day the silence"

Venue: Forum dei giovani di Cava de' Tirreni, Viale Crispi 1 (Villa Comunale), Cava de' Tirreni.

The show features 15 black-and-white photographs by photojournalist Cesare Abbate, offering a visual account of the lockdown months in Naples through intimate details and everyday scenes. Curated by Ileana Bonadies, the exhibition is included in the 2026 Sustainable Development Festival promoted by ASviS.

• Opening hours: daily 09:00–13:00; Wednesdays and Sundays also 17:00–21:00.
• Admission: free.
• Organisers: Portici Science Cafè, Scientia, Forum dei giovani di Cava de' Tirreni, Libreria Centopagine and the Italian science café network.
• Opening event: a critical reading of the images by anthropologist Prof. Paolo Apolito, who will discuss the universal themes and emotional layers in the work.

Cesare Abbate, born in Naples in 1967 and an ANSA correspondent since 2003, has contributed to numerous national and international publications. This exhibition condenses his documentary approach to individual stories within larger historical moments.
