Dating back to the first half of the 13th century thanks to the Thun-Hohenstein family, from whom it takes its name, the castle served as a noble residence and was opened to the public in 2010. Its grandeur reflects the importance of the family who built it, and it is distinguished by more than forty furnished rooms, including the Bishop’s Hall, as well as an inner courtyard, an entrance with a drawbridge, and a surrounding wall with bastions.
