The Reggia di Caserta takes charge of Piazza Carlo di Borbone

On 16 May 2026 the Municipality of Caserta and the Reggia di Caserta reached an agreement assigning management of Piazza Carlo di Borbone, the main entrance area to the monumental complex listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The partnership aims to make the square more functional, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Planned objectives and actions

  • Routine and extraordinary maintenance of pavements, street furniture and services.
  • Upgrade of public greenery and rest areas.
  • Coordination of visitor reception and information services.
  • Promotion of cultural initiatives and events in cooperation with the Municipality.

Expected outcome: a stronger connection between the Reggia and the city, with better-maintained public spaces and an improved entrance experience to the monument complex.

Project governance

The agreement was formalized with the involvement of local authorities: the mayor and the Reggia's management will work together to plan interventions and cultural activities in the square. The Municipality will retain an active role in organizing events and supervising works.

For visitors, the arrangement should mean clearer routes, enhanced reception services and a more livable square—an essential element for enjoying the monumental complex.
