Campobasso's historic center faces significant challenges: shop closures, degraded urban furnishings and a perception of insecurity that deters residents and investors. While some businesses continue to operate through strong personal commitment, the area needs an integrated, timely plan to prevent further depopulation of the borough.
Revitalising the historic center is not only about pavement and facades: it requires social and economic strategies that bring people and services back inside the old town. Only a shared strategy among institutions, the university and the local community can transform the borough from a "wounded" area into a driver of economy, culture and everyday life.
