Led by Borghetto Lodigiano, a new enogastronomic route links six villages in the Basso Lodigiano to showcase local food, artisanal production and cultural sites.
The initiative is coordinated by the Distretto Agroalimentare della Collina di San Colombano and supported by Regione Lombardia through the Lombardia Style programme. It brings together local administrations and businesses in agriculture, wine production, hospitality and tourism.
The schedule, spread from May to October, aims to encourage off-season visitation and promote proximity tourism with events focused on local products, tastings, markets and castle visits.
Regional Tourism Councillor Debora Massari highlighted the strategic value of networking: “Six villages uniting identity and tradition to offer a coherent and appealing story.” The Food District will ensure consistency and quality across the programme, facilitating public-private collaboration.
The project is presented as a scalable model of territorial marketing, with integrated communication and a distributed offer across three provinces to enhance the Basso Lodigiano's gastronomic and cultural assets.
