On Saturday 9 May 2026 the town of Barga hosted the inauguration of Emanuele Giannelli's solo, citywide exhibition titled The Visionaries. The ribbon-cutting took place at 18:00 at Porta Reale, followed by the opening at the Oxo Gallery at 19:00.
The project unfolds on two levels: an outdoor monumental trail, freely accessible 24/7, and an indoor core hosted by the Oxo Gallery (piazza del Comune 5). Giannelli's large-scale figures address themes of progress, technology and the interplay between dream and reality.
The exhibition is produced with the support of the Municipality of Barga, the association I Borghi più belli d'Italia, Oxo Collection Gallery and the artist. It is held under the patronage of the Tuscany Region and involves local partners—including restaurants and accommodation venues that host artworks indoors.
The project presents public art woven into the historic fabric of the town: monumental sculptures provoke reflection while remaining accessible to residents and visitors. The display demonstrates how contemporary sculpture can animate a village setting and attract cultural tourism.
Check Oxo Gallery or local tourist offices for updated visiting hours or guided tour options.
