Art, talent and tradition: “Alberti – Virgilio” Art High School honored

Award ceremony and exhibition in Foiano di Val Fortore

On 9 May 2026 the town of Foiano di Val Fortore hosted the award ceremony for the painting contest “La storia dello Iumbariello”, promoted by the municipal administration to enhance local intangible heritage and foster exchanges between school and community. The initiative involved classes 3B, 3C, 4C, 5B and 5C of the Liceo Artistico “Alberti – Virgilio” in Benevento.

The project is part of the School–Work Training (FSL) activities in agreement with the municipality, highlighting the role of educational partnerships in promoting cultural identity through art.

Awards

• 2nd prize: Anita Boffa (5B)
• 3rd prize: Group 4C — Roberta La Frazia, Raffaella Maffei, Denise Spagnuolo

The students were supported by Art teachers Mariapia Saccone and Caterina Citarella and Graphics teachers Tiziana De Tora and Sandra Dello Iacovo. The municipality, led by Mayor Dr. Giuseppe Antonio Ruggiero, and project coordinator Prof.ssa Veronica Russo received thanks for their organizational contribution.

The collective exhibition of the works is open to the public until 20 May 2026 at the Foiano di Val Fortore town hall.
