Archetypes: Antonio Biasiucci at the Royal Palace of Caserta

The Royal Palace of Caserta presents "Archetypes", a solo exhibition by Antonio Biasiucci curated by Tiziana Maffei, organized by Valeria Di Fratta and Paola Servillo. The show brings together about 300 photographs and installations that convert everyday and local elements into universal symbols, exploring themes of memory, materiality and identity.

Biasiucci's visual language recovers images rooted in the Campanian territory — from cattle to bread, milk to volcanoes, rituals to faith — and strips them to essentials so they become timeless archetypes. Highlights include site-specific works such as "Corpo latteo", the "Molti" project, and a section dedicated to the Real Sito di San Leucio, where looms and silk-working tools emerge as traces of collective identity.

  • Dates: open to the public from 31 May to 30 November 2026
  • Opening/inauguration: 30 May 2026
  • Venue: Gran Galleria, Royal Palace of Caserta (Piazza Carlo di Borbone)
  • Curator: Tiziana Maffei
  • Organizers: Museo Reggia di Caserta in collaboration with Gallerie d'Italia – Intesa Sanpaolo and Opera Laboratori
  • Publication: the book "Archetypes" published by Allemandi
  • Sponsors: Fondazione Orizzonti and Totem Digitali srl

This exhibition is part of the Palace's photographic program that promotes photography as a tool to read space and history. Biasiucci's work combines solitary images, polyptychs and immersive installations to guide visitors through a visceral and reflective experience.
