Materia Madre / Lingua Madre — Galleria Erica Ravenna, Rome
Period: 12 May – 30 September 2026
Galleria Erica Ravenna presents Materia Madre / Lingua Madre, a group show curated by Benedetta Carpi De Resmini that examines contemporary investigations into matter and language understood as living processes. The exhibition highlights works that reveal transformation, semantic regeneration and relationships between nature and culture.
Artists
- Cyril de Commarque – explorations of natural traces and environmental data translated into essential forms
- Laura Pugno – the "Persuasioni" series, using sand as pigment to probe coastal balances
- Gaia Scaramella – small ceramic figures from the "Matribus" series, suspended between birth and fall
- Lucia Veronesi – monotypes and embroideries that convert scientific language into a poetic lexicon
Materials and themes
- Materials: wood, sand as pigment, monotypes, embroidery, ceramics, paper sculpture
- Themes: metamorphosis, the organic versus the cultural, pre-verbal identities and ecological implications of transformation
Visiting notes
The installation is conceived as a sensory route: a slow, attentive reading of the works is recommended to appreciate the layers of matter, mark and word.
