Ara Pacis Museum: podcasts on the faces of Augustus's dynasty
Starting 15 May 2026, the Ara Pacis Museum introduces a project to enhance its permanent collection focused on the Gallery of Busts. Eight audio episodes, offered in Italian and English, guide visitors through personal stories and the historical context of key figures from the Augustan era.
How it works
Podcasts are available on site and can be accessed independently using a QR code placed next to each label. Each episode explores lives, achievements, family ties and public roles of members of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, turning the display of plaster casts into a narrative route.
Featured figures
- Augustus
- Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa
- Marcellus
- Gaius and Lucius Caesar
- Antonia Minor and Germanicus
Partners and production
The initiative is promoted by Roma Capitale and the Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage, with support from the Sorgente Group Foundation. Podcasts are produced by Foglio Edizioni and museum services are managed by Zètema Progetto Cultura.
