Venue: Sala Clementina, Pinacoteca di Bologna
On view until: 31 July 2026
The Pinacoteca di Bologna presents a focused selection of woodcut prints by Albrecht Dürer depicting scenes from the Book of Revelation. The exhibition highlights Dürer's technical mastery in wood engraving and his role in advancing printmaking across Europe.
The works come from historic Bolognese collections, enriched over time through significant donations. The display underscores the moral and symbolic contrasts typical of apocalyptic imagery: angels and demons, catastrophic battles and the final triumph of good.
Reservations are required for guided visits and the lecture. Check the museum's official channels for updated information on booking and visitor rules.
Curators: Elena Rossoni and Giulia Adami.
This exhibition offers a concise overview of Dürer's work as an engraver and publisher of his own prints, and a chance to explore how apocalyptic narratives were visualized in early modern Europe.
