Light Years: Mario Tirelli’s installation
Palazzo delle Esposizioni hosts the exhibition Light Years until 12 July 2026, curated by Mario Codognato. The project fills rooms 9, 10, 11 and 12 with a cohesive series of works conceived as a single large installation.
Born in 1956, Tirelli is recognized for his role in renewing Italian painting since the late 1970s. For this commission he presents 42 works produced through a distinctive method that blends multiple techniques and an extended execution process.
- Curator: Mario Codognato
- Works: 42 pieces forming a "theatre of memory"
- Spaces: rooms 9–12 at Palazzo delle Esposizioni
- Themes: light, shadow, visual memory, art history and cinematic fragments
- End date: 12 July 2026
The installation offers a sensory and intellectual route: each work retains its independence while contributing to an organic network that engages visitors on visual and conceptual levels. Light is the pivotal element, shaping imagined space and creating tensions between visibility and shadow.
