From 6 May to 22 November 2026 the Museo di Palazzo Grimani in Venice presents the first solo exhibition in Italy by Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo. The show establishes a dialogue between contemporary figurative painting and the historic rooms of the palace, exploring identity, belonging and representation through portraiture.
Practical information
Born in Accra in 1984, Boafo is recognized for a distinctive method that often uses fingers to apply paint, producing textured surfaces and expressive figures. Works created for this exhibition respond to the Renaissance interiors of the palace, prompting a conversation between historical context and contemporary practice.
