At Gallerie d’Italia – Turin: IED students present «The Searchlights»

A new chapter of a three-year IED project is on view in Turin: «The Searchlights» is a Public Portfolio Review where photography students from IED Turin, Milan and Rome explore current topics through visual projects. The event takes place within the programme of Exposed Torino Photo Festival.

The title evokes a beam of light that exposes what remains at the margins: photography here functions as a tool to highlight issues that link personal biographies with broader social concerns.

• Topics addressed: climate crisis, conflicts, inequality, work, migration, identity and rights.
• Participants: 18 IED students from Turin, Milan and Rome.
• Installation: each project is housed in a box designed by IED Florence visual communication students and presented on tables to encourage close, table-side discussion.
• Public dialogue: authors will discuss their projects with guest professionals and curators, fostering an engaged and participatory conversation.
