Scattered Thoughts is a solo exhibition by Alessandro Gioiello at Richter Fine Art Gallery in Rome. The selection features small-scale oil paintings on linen, marked by soft tones and an introspective approach.
The works originate from the artist's attention to commonplace items found in his studio. Objects such as shells, dried flowers and used shirts are isolated and recomposed, allowing warm and cool hues to counterbalance each other and producing a suspended, contemplative atmosphere.
The exhibition title originates from a collection of brief reflections by the artist: a concept that underlines a sparse, economical mode of working—limited means deployed to create a meaningful entry into painting. Curator Maria Vittoria Pinotti's text highlights how Gioiello's painting seeks not to escape reality but to penetrate it, guiding the viewer toward new ways of seeing ordinary things.
