Alessandro Busci – "The Enchanted City"

Dates: April 28 - May 28, 2026

Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura hosts a solo exhibition by Alessandro Busci that examines the city through the lenses of painting and architecture. The presentation gathers recent works where urban structures surface from textured grounds pierced by sudden highlights and atmospheric tones.

Trained as an architect, Busci blends precise drawing with expressive painterly gestures. His imagery renders familiar metropolitan elements—stadia, towers, factories, city silhouettes—as monumental, suspended presences that oscillate between the real and the imagined.

  • Media: enamels and inks on oxidised paper; works on corten steel
  • Themes: urban memory, architecture as pictorial matter, emotional cartography of the city
  • Catalogue: a publication by Bonvini 1909 featuring critical essays by contemporary art scholars

Through oxidation, runs and chemical interactions, Busci builds dense, layered surfaces in which colour acquires depth and intensity. The works propose a poetic mapping of the contemporary city where material processes are integral to meaning.

Opening: Tuesday, April 28 at 6:00 PM

Gallery hours: Mon–Fri 3:30 PM–7:30 PM; mornings by appointment.

This exhibition is recommended for collectors, curators and anyone interested in contemporary painting that engages with urban form and material experimentation.
