Autore: Redazione 16/04/2026 22:06

Alberto Zorzi at Museo Orodautore: an overview of artist-jewelry

Where: Museo Orodautore, Palazzo della Fraternità (via Giorgio Vasari 3), Arezzo — When: from 17/04/2026 to 01/11/2026. Opening: Friday 17 April at 18:00. Opening hours: Friday to Sunday, 11:00–19:00. Admission: free.

The museum presents a solo exhibition by Alberto Zorzi, a leading goldsmith whose work blurs the boundaries between jewelry, sculpture and wearable design. The retrospective gathers over 350 pieces — historic and recent — displayed in the Salone del Torri.

Highlights

  • La Città-Arezzo: a gold brooch representing the city’s pentagonal plan and skyline, exemplifying Zorzi’s aerial, sculptural visions.
  • Signature necklaces and brooches, including works shown in recent tributes to Giorgio Vasari.
  • Everyday sculptures from the Pitagora and Fellini series, produced in partnership with Greggio Argenti 1948: vases, candlesticks and table centerpieces.
  • Experimentation with materials such as gold, platinum, silver, copper, steel, ebony and quartz.

Curated by Giuliano Centrodi, the exhibition highlights Zorzi’s material research: finely chased, sanded and incised surfaces, custom textures and inventive structural solutions that transform jewelry into plastic, conceptual objects. The display traces his long-term investigation into form, technique and meaning in contemporary goldsmithing.

Born in Padua in 1958, Zorzi has combined teaching and practice for decades; his works are held in major international collections. The Arezzo show is an opportunity to review his career and his enduring connection with a city historically linked to goldsmith traditions.
