From 1 April to 17 May 2026 the Mattatoio Roma hosts a solo exhibition by Vincenzo Scolamiero, retracing fifteen years of the artist's painting research. The show brings together over thirty works — canvases, panels, papers and artist books — highlighting the ongoing dialogue between painting, music and poetry.
The exhibition provides a comprehensive view of Scolamiero's stylistic evolution: from minimally suspended compositional balances to pieces with richer tonal and structural complexity. His layered use of pigments, oils, inks and acrylics produces delicate glazes and luminous shifts where the physical gesture of painting is closely tied to rhythm and breath.
The exhibition title, taken from a verse by Louise Glück, evokes an encompassing relationship with the world and appears in the works as subtle traces reflecting themes of transience and impermanence. Several paintings explicitly reference poets and composers that inform the artist's practice, as signalled also by the works' titles.
