Third edition of the Guide of Sustainable Municipalities unveiled at Turin Book Fair

The Guide of Sustainable Municipalities 2026/2027 was presented at the Turin International Book Fair. The 624-page volume highlights local initiatives for environmental protection and sustainable development across Italy.

Compiled by the Rete dei Comuni Sostenibili, the guide documents contributions from across the country: 167 local authorities, more than 700 best practices and over 1,000 places and routes described to promote mindful, low-impact tourism.

• Purpose: to provide citizens and local administrators with replicable examples of sustainable policies and projects.
• Edition highlights: thematic deep-dives and a curated selection of about 130 films and TV series set in territories associated with the network.
• EcoTrek initiative: announced as a nationwide program of natural treks and urban experiential routes to explore landscapes, nature, culture and history.

The presentation was part of the ASviS Festival of Sustainable Development 2026. Organizers note the Guide helps translate the UN Agenda 2030 goals into tangible actions at the local level. The volume includes forewords by contributors such as Sara Zambotti and Massimo Cirri and features partnerships with organisations including Slow Food.
