Anselmo Bucci retrospective at Mart Rovereto

From 28 March to 27 September the Mart in Rovereto hosts the most extensive exhibition ever dedicated to Anselmo Bucci (1887–1955). The show brings together more than 150 works — paintings, prints, drawings and photographs — mapping the artistic and intellectual journey of the Marche-born artist, a notable and refined figure in 20th-century Italian art.

The exhibition is the result of institutional collaboration involving the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Mart and cultural partners from the Marche region, with important loans from national public and private collections.

Highlights of the exhibition

  • Works on display: over 150 items including paintings, graphic works, drawings and photographic material.
  • Curatorship: the Mart director together with the exhibition curators present a chronological and thematic reading of Bucci’s career.
  • Loans and provenance: significant contributions from major museums, foundations and private collections.

Why visit

The show provides a comprehensive overview of an artist who engaged with European debates of the 20th century and maintained close ties with collectors and cultural institutions. The exhibition layout supports a clear narrative of Bucci’s stylistic phases and intellectual connections.
