Brazilian artist Alê Jordão returns to Milan for Milan Design Week 2026, presenting three works across venues in the 5VIE circuit. His projects investigate the transformation of private spaces into exhibition settings and the neon as a contemporary language, delivering strong visual and sensory experiences.
In Pink Toilet the private, functional bathroom is reinvented as an exhibition space that blends pop excess and bodily memory. Animal-print walls, plush carpet and coordinated pink accessories create a staged environment. Original sanitary fixtures are kept visible as temporal traces, while a bathtub with dry ice produces vapor, invoking breath, suspension and ephemerality.
Neon is central to Jordão’s practice. Lightning Bolt Neon renders the power of a lightning strike into a precise, pulsating luminous form, juxtaposing natural force with human-made structure. Frida’s Boka Loka converts the mouth into a luminous voice in red neon, shifting the narrative from pain to assertion, energy and confrontation.
Visitors should check individual venue hours and any access information on the official FuoriSalone programme. The works provide a focused look at contemporary issues — body, memory, everyday ritual and luminous languages — combining provocation with spectacle.
