Treviso Airport: passenger growth and a boost for Veneto's cultural tourism

In 2025 Treviso "Antonio Canova" Airport exceeded 3.2 million passengers, an increase of 5% over the previous year. The positive trend continued into early 2026, with about 460,000 passengers recorded in January–February (+2.7% year-on-year).

  • Destinations: 45 active routes, notably to Spain, Romania, Albania, Belgium and Poland.
  • Main carriers: Ryanair and Wizz Air, dominant in the low-cost segment.
  • Passenger mix: leisure travelers, VFR (Visit Friends and Relatives) and short-haul business traffic.

From a cultural perspective, expanded low-cost connections improve access to Veneto's attractions: easier travel to Venice, the Prosecco area, museums, festivals and seasonal events can attract more national and international visitors. This connectivity offers opportunities for cultural institutions and local tourism operators to reach broader audiences.

Alongside opportunities, growth raises practical and sustainability challenges: enhancing ground transport links, improving airport services and adopting measures to reduce environmental impact will be essential to convert passenger increases into lasting benefits for the region.
