ADI Design Museum: programme for Design Week 2026
From 20 to 26 April 2026 the ADI Design Museum (Piazza Compasso d'Oro, 1 - Milan) presents a week of exhibitions, installations and talks dedicated to contemporary design. Indicative opening hours: 10:30 - 21:00. Some events may require prior booking or a ticket; check the official schedule before visiting.
Main exhibitions
- XXIX Compasso d’Oro: an exhibition of finalists showcasing current trends, innovations and experiments in Italian design—products and projects that reflect societal and technological shifts.
- bit by bit by Haruka Misawa: the designer's first solo show in Italy, focused on subtle variations, attention to the ordinary and a practice of close observation.
- Heritage Reimagined — SOBAN (Seoul Design Foundation): a contemporary reinterpretation of a traditional Seoul living element, combining Korean craft techniques with digital fabrication.
- Oluce — 80 years of light curated by Francesco Rota: a visual narrative about the company's creative legacy and contribution to lighting design.
- Evolutionary design, the shape of wonder by CHICCO: a project observing child growth to translate needs and relationships into solutions that adapt over time.
Installations
- ICOSAEDRO by Mario Botta: a small wooden architecture from Trentino inspired by Le Corbusier's Cabanon, designed to harmonize with landscape and community.
- GOOD DESIGN CITIES by Massimiliano Mandarini: visions for more human, sustainable and biophilic urban environments where design and responsibility shape new forms of coexistence.
- VESPA – 80 years of an icon by Piaggio: a display contrasting the 1946 Vespa 98 with the 80th anniversary commemorative model to explore the evolution of an Italian design icon.
Talks and presentations
- Book presentation "Jeong: The Spirit of Korean Craft and Design" (PHAIDON) — conversation with author Hyo Jung Lee (scheduled 20 April, 11:00).
- Award ceremony and round table | DBEW Design Award 2026 — ceremony and panel on co-creation between students and faculty (scheduled 21 April, 10:00), featuring international design voices.
- Book presentations: "Le caffettiere dei maestri" by Giulio Iacchetti (scheduled 26 April, 11:00) and "Light from Italy. From Fattori to Morandi" (scheduled 26 April, 18:00).
