Tanabata 2026 opens in Cosenza: 'From Renaissance to Baroque in Italy' exhibition at Portapiana

On 26 April 2026 at 15:00 the Associazione Progetto Paterno will inaugurate Tanabata 2026 in Cosenza. The exhibition, titled 'From Renaissance to Baroque in Italy – Mirabili Scuole a confronto', is presented in the association's new urban venue at Portapiana, via San Giovanni Battista 20, in the historic centre.

• The show sets a dialogue between artistic schools and languages spanning the Renaissance and the Baroque.
• Works attributed to artists such as Federico Zuccari, Onorio Marinari, James Ramsay Hill, Giuseppe Simonelli, Giovanni Sarnelli, Giovanni Evangelista Draghi and Rosa Da Tivoli will be included.
• The inauguration will feature Mariuccia Campolo, with remarks by Antonello Tucci; collectors Teresa Vitelli and Mimmo Barbaro will also take part.
• The project was supported by PAC 2014/2020 Axis VI Action 6.8.3 of the Calabria Region.
• Portapiana occupies a historically documented building dating back to the 1500s, close to the Swabian Castle (Castello Svevo).

The opening marks the start of exhibition activities in the new city venue and complements Progetto Paterno's work in Paterno Calabro. Visiting times and access information will be announced by the organizers.
