3rd UNESCO MAB World Youth Forum in Veneto

The Veneto Region is hosting the 3rd UNESCO MAB World Youth Forum, gathering over 200 young participants from 142 countries. The event focuses on planetary challenges, from biodiversity conservation to sustainable land-use and cultural heritage management.

The forum provides a platform for idea exchange, training and co-design, engaging youth leaders, researchers and heritage professionals. In the Italian context the discussions are directly linked to the protection of UNESCO Sites in Veneto, including the City of Venice and its Lagoon, the Dolomites and the Palladian heritage across the region.

  • Main goals: raise awareness and train young people on sustainability, conservation and participatory governance.
  • Participants: over 200 youth from 142 countries with multidisciplinary backgrounds in environmental and cultural fields.
  • Typical activities: workshops, roundtables, hands-on sessions and international networking opportunities.
  • Benefits for UNESCO Sites: promote best practices for protecting natural and cultural heritage and empower local communities.
  • How to follow or participate: updates and details are published on the official channels of the organizers and the Region; check official announcements for registration and programme information.

For visitors and local cultural operators, the forum is an opportunity to deepen conservation projects and international exchanges involving Italy's UNESCO sites. Monitor institutional channels for public events and related guided visits.
