Yngve Henriksen at Pastificio Cerere: an Arctic plunge

The artist Yngve Henriksen brings his northern landscapes to Pastificio Cerere in Rome with a presentation of roughly fifty works — paintings, paper drawings and small-scale pieces that reflect the unique light and isolation of the Lofoten islands.

Dates: from 15 May to 10 July 2026.
Venue: Pastificio Cerere, Rome.

What to expect

  • Layered paintings where motifs — often pointed houses and sea horizons — disappear and re-emerge through successive coatings of color.
  • Intimate charcoal and paper drawings featuring recurring elements such as windows and candles.
  • Small textile-like works and collages that complete the painterly practice.
  • Display cases with personal books, notes and objects that illuminate the artist’s creative process.

Why visit

The installation recreates a northern atmosphere (including darkened windows to preserve the show’s mood) and offers a contemplative encounter with art rooted in landscape, memory and studio practice. Henriksen’s work explores the tension between fragile human presence and the imposing natural environment.
