About the exhibition

Voci / Voices brings together the seven shortlisted projects of the 13th Luigi Ghirri Prize, selected from over 300 submissions. Curated by Ilaria Campioli and Daniele De Luigi, the show highlights contemporary photographic practices by under-35 artists that give voice to personal, political and environmental issues.

The projects address topics such as human–nonhuman relationships, material traces of Mediterranean migration, ecological contradictions, processes of mourning, family genealogies affected by trauma, and the absent images of collective memory.

Practical programme

• April 30: opening 19:00–23:00 (the exhibition is visitable from 19:30).
• May 1: open 10:00–23:00.
• May 2: open 10:00–23:00.
• May 3: open 10:00–20:00; 11:00 guided visit with artists and curators; 12:30 award ceremony.
• May 8 – June 14: open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10:00–18:00.

Awards and opportunities

The Luigi Ghirri Prize awards a total of €4,000 and grants the winner a solo exhibition opportunity at Triennale Milano. Additional recognitions include the “Nuove traiettorie” special mention (residency and exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm) and participation in Photo-Match at Fotofestiwal Łódź.
