As part of the 34th edition of the FAI Spring Days, the Ducal Palace of San Marco la Catola will be open to visitors. Free guided tours will showcase the rooms that host the Monti Dauni Library and other cultural spaces within the historic complex.
The visits are organized with the FAI delegation of Foggia and the Lucera & Northern Monti Dauni group, while cultural services are managed locally by the Frequenze social cooperative on behalf of the municipality.
The building, commonly referred to as the “Castle,” has origins in the 13th century as a castrum with defensive functions and was enlarged over time, later becoming a symbol of noble authority. Today it is a protected monument that combines historical significance with public cultural use.
To take part, arrive during the scheduled time slots; arriving a few minutes early is recommended to facilitate access. The visits form part of the national FAI Spring Days program, an annual initiative that promotes awareness and protection of Italy’s artistic and landscape heritage.
For more details on the site and the library’s activities, consult local organizers or the official channels of the municipality and the FAI delegation of Foggia.
