Adolfo Wildt at Villa Necchi Campiglio: four masterpieces on display for Milano Art Week

The FAI presents a compact exhibition devoted to Adolfo Wildt at Villa Necchi Campiglio, opening as part of Milano Art Week. The show originated from a practical situation: the temporary loan of a key work elsewhere prompted a collaborative rethinking of the villa’s displays.

Exhibition concept

The installation juxtaposes works from museums and private collections to highlight Wildt’s stylistic development, from his early realistic approach to the more symbolic and spiritual phases. The four selected sculptures are integrated into the villa’s rooms, preserving the domestic museum atmosphere characteristic of FAI projects.

Works on show

  • A portrait-mask sculpture loaned from another institution, presented in place of the piece temporarily transferred elsewhere.
  • Three works from private collections representing different phases of Wildt’s production, useful for reading the evolution of his formal language.

Why visit

  • Rare opportunity to see important sculptures in a setting that enhances the dialogue between artwork, architecture and furnishings.
  • Explanatory panels and materials along the route provide context on technique and themes.
  • Example of institutional and private collaboration to promote circulation and knowledge of cultural heritage.
