For National Landscape Day, the Ercolano Archaeological Park is presenting a free guided visit focused on the transformation of the Vesuvius area from antiquity to the present. The route highlights the relationship between human communities and the environment, offering views of the ancient city framed by Mount Vesuvius to the north and the sea to the south.
The tour encourages reflection on the cultural value of landscape, historical land-use practices and the changes brought by human activities, technologies and social needs. It is an opportunity to experience the archaeological site from a new perspective and to discuss landscape protection.
The Park encourages both visitors and the local community to learn about and help safeguard the Vesuvius landscape. Note: from 16 March the Park will observe summer opening hours, 8:30–19:30 with last admission at 18:00.
Advance booking is mandatory due to limited places; access is granted with the regular site ticket.
