Visit Oglio Po: flavors and traditions across the riverine villages

A coordinated initiative brings together 18 municipalities in the provinces of Cremona and Mantua to promote local events and itineraries. Supported by InLombardia and the Lombardy Region, and led by the municipality of Torre de' Picenardi with GAL Oglio Po coordination, the project offers more than 150 seasonal appointments to showcase the area’s widespread heritage.

Why visit Oglio Po

• Networked villages hosting everything from centuries-old fairs to festivals, theatre and tastings.
• Six cycling routes (about 320 km in total) connect stages and encourage repeat visits and slow travel.
• Promotion of DeCO products, historic villas, important wetland areas and recognized cultural sites.

Organization and benefits

The project allows individual events to appear on the regional InLombardia portal and to apply for funding through the Lombardia Style program. Each municipality keeps its identity by selecting a flagship event, complemented by the GiroBorghi program — a set of side activities such as guided tours, tastings and cultural experiences designed to bring visitors back and reveal new aspects of the route.

First appointment

The GiroBorghi series begins on 25 April 2026 in Torricella del Pizzo with the Pizzetto Week 2026; the main events then run from June through December.
