Art & Golf: Rome’s golf course becomes an open-air art gallery

Art & Golf: when golf meets contemporary art in Rome

From 9 to 14 May 2026, the Golf Club Parco di Roma, together with the Hotel Hassler, presents an international initiative merging sport and contemporary art: "Art & Golf – for a round together". Promoted by CIWAS, the event converts the course into an open-air museum where artworks interact with the landscape and athletic gestures.

  • Dates: 9–14 May 2026
  • Venues: Golf Club Parco di Roma; closing event and auction at Hotel Hassler
  • Project: 9 Italian artists create 18 site-specific works, each associated with a hole on the course
  • Charity auction: 14 May, organised by auction house Bolli & Romiti; original works will be auctioned
  • Patronage: Department for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Rome Capital

The playing course will become a lasting aesthetic route: installations will be accompanied by certified plaques on each tee sign to identify and document the works along the holes. The initiative aims to enrich the visual experience of the sport, fostering encounters between players, art lovers and cultural professionals.

Nine prominent Italian artists have been invited to produce works specifically conceived for the golf environment. The programme culminates in a charity auction at the Hotel Hassler where the original pieces created for the event will be sold—an opportunity to support social causes and encourage contemporary collecting.

As project promoter, CIWAS highlights the cultural significance of bringing together wellness, sport and creativity, opening new networking opportunities and promoting the local area. Visitors are advised to check the official channels of Golf Club Parco di Roma and Hotel Hassler for details on visiting hours, access and participation.
