Valdichiana Eating in Cetona: itinerant producers' market (9-10 May 2026)

The village of Cetona hosts the eighth edition of Valdichiana Eating, an itinerant market that highlights local km‑0 productions and regional flavours. The event takes place in Piazza Garibaldi with stalls, guided tastings and activities designed to showcase Valdichiana's food culture.

Producers of extra virgin olive oil, wine, cured meats, pecorino cheeses, legumes, preserves and seasonal fruit and vegetables will be present throughout the weekend. Guided tastings, led by FISAR sommeliers and AICOO olive oil experts, help visitors explore local products.

Highlights

• Cooking show: on Saturday morning chef Nicolò Duchini will feature the pastrignocco, interpreting this traditional pasta in a contemporary way alongside the Pro Loco of Cetona.
• Traditional cooking: Sunday showcases the slow-cooking Cassetta di Cottura by the Filo & Fibra cooperative and the local bico focaccia, with participation from the Banda Comunale “A. Toscanini” of Piazze.
• Disfida Cetonese: a distributed culinary competition among restaurants, trattorias and farmhouses; the public votes via QR code and social channels. Winner announced Sunday at 17:00 in Piazza Garibaldi.
• Aglione della Valdichiana: the edition's thematic product, with discussions on its IGP candidacy and a talk on agrobiodiversity and gastronomy (Saturday at 15:00).

Visits and special openings

The Civic Museum of Monte Cetona Prehistory and the Belverde Archaeological and Natural Park will have extended opening hours over the weekend for visitors.
