Turismo Dop expands in 2025, Center-North leads the ranking

The tourism sector tied to protected-origin products (Turismo Dop) is growing: the second Turismo Dop Report, produced with the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, records an increase in initiatives across Italian territories in 2025.

• 667 activities recorded in 2025, up 12% from 2024.
• Initiatives were organized by 376 protection consortia, supported in part by EU funds.
• 292 of the activities were events (+26% year-on-year): festivals, tastings, cultural and sporting events.
• Tastings are the main reason for participation in 63% of cases.
• The most active regions are Veneto, Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Piedmont.

The report highlights how food-and-wine offerings and events tied to local productions are strengthening the tourist appeal of territories, promoting experiential routes that combine culture, landscape and gastronomy. The rise in initiatives points to opportunities for local operators and visitors seeking authentic, certified products.
