Pordenone doubles surplus and posts record €54.5 million in works

The municipal council approved the 2025 financial statement, to be brought before the council on April 27. The report highlights improved financial management: the free administrative surplus exceeds €6 million—double the 2024 figure—while capital expenditure reaches a record €54.5 million.

Despite no increases in public service fees, the municipality maintained high investments in social services and public works.

• Social spending: over €34 million for early childhood services, housing rights and support for families with disabilities.
• Main projects underway or nearing completion include the new secondary school in the Torre district (€12.2M), demolition and reconstruction of Beato Odorico primary school, Torre nursery, redevelopment of the former Birreria (€9M) and interventions on ex Battirame and ex Fiera (€23.7M).
• Capital of Culture 2027: dedicated funds exceeding €1.4 million from the Region and investments in exhibitions, museums, libraries, furnishings and equipment.
• Governance: contingency fund unused and supplier payment times met.

The statement also records a reduction in the negative balance versus 2024 and shows resources channeled toward educational and cultural priorities. The mayor described the figures as a sign of improving management; the report now goes to the municipal council for final approval.
