Turbans: photographic exhibition at Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi

From 23 March to 30 April the Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi in Rome presents “Turbans”, a photographic project that brings together fashion, education and social inclusion. The exhibition showcases a visual narrative that highlights identity and personal dignity through collaborative creative work.

Curated by artist and educator Cosmo Muccino Amatulli with photographs by Roberto Autuori, the show features headpieces crafted by students of the Fashion Styling & Communication course at Accademia del Lusso. The portraits, produced during photo sessions with members of the association Modelli si Nasce, present intimate and respectful artistic depictions.

The project stems from the collaboration between vocational training and artistic practice: students designed and made the turbans that become expressive elements in the portraits. The exhibition seeks to challenge stereotypes by centring people, their unique qualities and diversity as a positive value.

“Turbans” also functions as an educational moment: the photographs offer powerful portraits that capture the personalities, strengths and vulnerabilities of the participants, the result of shared work among students, photographers and the association.

Representatives, the curator, students and the young participants will attend the opening. The event highlights the museum’s role as a space for cultural experimentation and social inclusion.
