The Power City: Cyborg Dystopia

Marco Bolognesi's solo show blends visual art and cinema with postmodern and cyberpunk influences. The exhibition examines the relationship between humans and machines, the boundary between reality and simulation, and themes of genetic manipulation through installations, drawings and digital works.

For the opening the artist participates in the event and, following a screening of his first feature film 'The Truth on Sendai City', takes part in a conversation with the curators and film critic Roberto Chiesi.

• Highlights: scale models of spacecraft inspired by sci‑fi, drawings of cyborgs and mutants, digital pieces referencing comics and videogames.
• Exhibition format: a narrative journey incorporating painting, drawing, photography and digital experimentation.
• Artist background: Bolognesi, with an international career and collaborations across contemporary art and animation, presents his first solo show in the city where he trained.

Founded in Bologna in 2017, his production hub Bomar Studio supports animation and experimental cinema, reinforcing the interplay between still and moving image on display.
